Legal Aid Night

It's AL law night at the library. That's Athlone Law Night. Second last night of the year for the very popular legal aid clinic offered by UCT. "I shot the neighbours dog by mistake and......."

Heritage

Here is that "edgy" heritage display refered to earlier. The left hand side, "Pride"
features our Heritage sites as well as pictures of proud families from different communities. The right side "Shame" features articles about crime and corruption (alleged!) The viewer is then asked at the bottom of the display, which side to they choose as their heritage?

Arbor Month

Hey, we are promoting trees this month. Along with Parks and Forests, libraries are telling all to Plant A Tree!!!. This little display should give our borrowers a leg up into those trees!

Heritage Displays

It's Heritage Month, so we have mounted various heritage displays in our library. Children's focused on straight heritage sites and books going along with this....as seen above. The beautiful Ed. Department Cradle of Mankind posters have been used to good effect. Adults will be mounting an edgier display along the lines of Pride and Shame as what we leave behind as heritage. More soon.
