children, do not try this unless you have a nice little hsdpa htc (like emma!). but this is a test bed....... so blogging using my sad little v360 is ok. the likelyhood of posting a pic is so low from this phone that i may as well tell u a story..... are you sitting comfortably? once upon a time there was a librarian......

Alicedale Pre-School Colouring

The young ones from Alicedale Pre-School did some colouring in today. They were very proud of their work! No colouring in was done at 3:37 am....... The camera time stamp is living in another universe!

Card Making

Card making in the library this morning! They gave us all a big smile before starting.

Safeline

A Visit from Linda and the team from Safeline concluded the 16 Days of Activism Month. Here they are busy with the kids. The young man to the left in the top picture is Anthony, an exchange student from America.

Visit from Assets

Nobody escapes this blog! We were visited by Brandon from H/O Lis who spent the day scanning in barcoded furniture, etc....

Repairs On the Way

The good men from maintenance are working away on our little building to make it a better place for all. Our unstable shelf supports are being replaced with wood blocks as seen below.

Bad news

Dear Friends. This blog can not simply be about cheery, wistful things. We once had gutters...........

And a "Security" gate....... but the reapers, hunter gatherers, call them what you may, have been busy in Athlone. May the fleas of a thousand camels forever infest their armpits.

From remote

Well, this is not quite an Athlone Library Pic post. This was done from Bridgetown Library, picture taken on a cell with a broken lens, via a Smartcape terminal, using a usb port allegedly not yet activated (wrong!). This now proves conclusively that anybody with a decent camera phone, a Smartcape new terminal, and the will...... can blog their library!!! Felicia gives us a Smile!!

Festive Card Making

With Eid and Christmas (and New Year!) coming soon, we are holding daily card making sessions in our library. What a thoughtful (free!!!) gift a card makes.
Here we see the tykes at work with Alison helping out.

Reading Programme

Here is our "Reading Tree" !!!



The tree has hanging from it a number of reading cards. As readers sign up for the programme, they get a card hung on the tree. Like this.......
